Introducing the Publitik podcast: the daily audio brief for the publishing market

Five minutes a day with Marina and Caio discussing what matters in the global publishing market. It complements the daily newsletter with context and discussion.

Publitik subscribers have been asking for a new layer to complement what they already receive daily. The daily newsletter delivers what happened and links to read the full stories. What was missing was a space to discuss the implications — with more context, more breathing room, and in a format that fits into a commute, a workout, or a coffee break. Starting today, that space is here.

The Publitik Podcast is a daily audio edition, lasting between five and six minutes, that delves deeper into the most relevant highlights of the global publishing market. It’s released in the morning, alongside the daily newsletter, and covers the developments that matter to those making decisions on acquisitions, contracts, launches, or analysis.

Complements, not replaces

The podcast and daily newsletter work together. Each answers a different question:

  • Daily Newsletter: What happened in the last 24 hours? — Seven curated highlights, short summaries, links to read each story in full. A quick-read format.
  • Daily Podcast: What does it mean for the market? — Marina and Caio delve into three to four key highlights, discuss structural context, and connect themes. A discussion format.

Those who only read the newsletter know what happened. Those who also listen to the podcast understand why it happened and what to expect next. Both channels will continue to be released daily, with no change in the newsletter’s cadence or content.

How the podcast works

Each episode is hosted by two regular personalities. Marina hosts — the voice of the house, responsible for editorial curation. Caio Martins is the data reporter, providing numbers and structural context. The dialogue between the two replaces a solo bulletin because it helps distinguish what happened from what it means for the market.

The script content draws from the same database that feeds our dashboard and newsletter: stories captured in 22 countries, classified by relevance, with coverage from specialized press, weekly rankings, and structural indicators. The audio provides an interpretive layer over existing data.

A word on technology

The voices of Marina and Caio are generated by artificial intelligence. We’ve chosen to be explicit about this from the very first episode — the sound is AI-generated, but the content is editorial. The script is built from our curated database, passes through a tone classifier that adapts the register to the day’s gravity, and the intro and outro are canonical. Marina and Caio are consistent personalities; their tone and rhythm respect the subject matter.

The decision to openly showcase the technology rather than conceal it is part of Publitik’s editorial stance. Those who produce content must disclose how they produce it.
